The rocky mountain national park is situated in the north central region of the US state of the Colorado. It is rich with some great mountain view, a variety of wild life, as well as different kinds of forests. There are around five centers around the park. The park headquarters which is the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is one of the National Historic Landmark which was designed by the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin West.

The rocky mountain has around 300000 acres of land and is situated in the Colorado’s natural Front Range. The park is divided into two parts. The western part of the rocky mountain is drier and is famous for the glaciers as well as the cirques. Where as the eastern part is famous for the wet climate and is surrounded by some of the thickest forest found around the country.

The park has more than 60 highest peaks and some of them are even as high as 12000 feet which is just incredible. The winter season in this region is very deadly. Yes this place is quiet good for hiking but during the winter season you will definitely find it to be really dangerous. Hence if you are interested in hiking then you should visit the Rocky Mountains other than the winter season.

There are around 150 lakes and 359 miles of trails. People just love hiking in this region. I have been in this region for many times and I must tell you that I enjoyed a lot in this region. This is just not because I love hiking. I fact I love watching high peaks as well as the snowfall. And I get everything in this region. The lakes are just awesome and you will enjoy the canoeing as well as the kayaking in these lakes. There are some floating restaurants also in this region and I really feel that you will love eating some delicious foods in these parks.

Some of the glaciers which are found in these regions are Andrews Glacier, Tyndall Glacier, Sprague Glacier, Rowe Glacier, Mills Glacier, Taylor Glacier and Moomaw Glacier. These are some of the very popular glaciers around the world.

The month of July and August are the warmest of all. You will find the deep snow layer at the height greater than 9000 feet. Most of the trails are under snow in most parts of the year. However the area of danger and safe regions are marked well.

You will also find the rangers giving their valuable assistance at all the corners. You can hire one ranger for your safety and this is really a good habit.

This is one of the United States national parks which are situated at the western end of the Colorado and is managed by the national park service. The park has the two entrances. The southern end is more developed and is located 15 miles east of the Montrose. Another entrance which is the north rim entrance is located 11miles south of Crawford. This park contains the famous 12 miles long canyons of the Gunnison River. The deepest and the most dramatic section of the canyon are present in the park itself.

The Gunnison River drops only 43 feet per mile which is almost equal to 8 meters per kilometers. This makes the Gunnison River one of the steepest descents in the North America. The chasm view which is situated inside the park marks the steepest descent and that of 240 feet per mile which is really spectacular.

Do you have any idea why this canyon is called the black canyon? Wait I will explain it to you. Actually the steepness of the canyon is too deep that the sunlight hardly reaches down under. Hence it is quiet dark down under. This really makes the wall of the canyons which comprises of rocks look dark and black. This is the main reason why it is also called the black canyon.

The Gunnison River is really supposed to be responsible for the carving of the canyon. The canyon looks like as it is today due to the Gunnison River but some other geological events are responsible as well.

The Ute Indians knew about the black canyon much earlier than the other Europeans which discovered it hundreds of years ago. The US got the independence in the year 1776 and by that time many Europeans had already explored this great canyon. The history tells us that the first explorers came here for the wealth and treasury. However, later the explorer used to come here in search of the recreation purposes.

This canyon has really got some of the treasure if you are interested in the natural beauty. You can just come and visit this park and enjoy the whole day watching the canyon as well as the other recreation items which this park has for you.

The sport of the rock climbing is also quiet popular in this area. People come here and the professional rock climbers really find it quiet of high quality as far as the rock climbing is concerned.

Colorado is one of the states of the US which is quiet rich in the natural beauty. You can call it a nature’s paradise. You must have been to South Africa, the great rainbow country. But the Colorado is also not far behind and you will definitely love to visit this park which is one of the best parks around the Colorado.

The teller county is situated in the state of Colorado. It is basically the 22nd most populous county in the Colorado. The Cripple Creek forms the seat of this county. You can easily see the famous mountain of the rocky mountain range which is called the Pikes Peaks. The Florissant fossil bed national park is the most important park in this region. You can be citizen of any country but I do feel that you must have heard about this park once in your life. The great city of Florissant is situated in this county only. According to the US census bureau the county is spread 559 square miles of area. Of this the most of the part are the land and only 2% is the water.

It is surrounded by the Douglas county, park county, EI Paso County and the Fremont County. The biggest city of the county is the Altman. Florissant really offers some of the best sites of the fossils which are more than4.5 million years old. I must really say that the key attraction of the teller county is the national park situated at the Florissant and I do feel that this is really one of the locations throughout the world which really presents some of the oldest fossils which takes us long back in the history of the world.

There is a long story about the Florissant fossils; I must say that you will definitely find the story to be very interesting. More than millions of years ago there was a volcanic eruption. This happened in the region where there was the Florissant valley. The plants and the insects which fell in the valley were completely buried and I must say that the debris changed into the fossils after millions of years ago. I must say that it was really quiet surprising to note that the fossils were looking so real and were safe. Lots of research was being conducted and at last it was found that the reason it was safe because the ash which fell over it was smoother than the talcum powder.

However it was not before 1969 that this place was determined as the national park. You must really note down that the fossils being found here were very old and the government soon realized that these fossils can really provide us with lots of information about the life of the earth millions of years ago.

You must also know that this park is the main attraction of the teller county. It has really been the favorite destination for the tourist visiting the teller county. However the fact that this place provided such an old fossil was really remarkable.

The Front Range is the mountain range of the rocky mountain of the North America which is located in the north central portion of the US state of Colorado. The Front Range is so named because moving west along the 40th parallel north across the great plains of the North America. I must say that it is the first mountain range encountered.

The name Front Range is also derived from Front Range urban corridor which is the most populated region as far as the US is concerned. It extends from pueblo Colorado north to Cheyenne Wyoming. This urban corridor is made possible by the weather moderating effect of the front mountain range which helps clock prevailing storms.

This setting provides both scenery as the Front Range towers over Denver and Boulder and it is also the hotspot for the people living there who take part in mountain biking, hiking, camping, skiing, and snowboarding during winter. However if you will go back millions of years back in the history then you will find that the mountain range which we now know as the Front Range, was home to ancient mountain ranges, deserts, beaches, and even oceans. If you want to have the evidence then you may look at the rocks over which the people of Colorado live. Most of these rocks have proved to be really great and have given the geologists many clues about the past of this region.

I really feel that the Front Range has really proved out to be one of the best as far as the different mountain ranges are concerned.

I would now like to list some of the regions which are a milestone and very important if you want to know about the history of this place. They are as follows:

Pikes Peak granite.

Fountain formation.

Lyons sand stones.

Lykins formation.

Morrison formation.

Dakota sand stone.

And so on.

I really feel that they are quiet important. You must have heard about the Florissant fossil bed. I really feel that the region contains quiet a large number of fossils and I must tell you that the Front Range is not too far from that place. I really feel that all these regions are quiet important and takes us long back inside the history which is million of years old. This is really incredible and I do feel that you will not find such places around the world. The US is really quiet lucky to have its history so old. None of the country around the world has the privilege of being so old. Hence we should really feel proud and also meanwhile help the government to protect the area from something which can destroy these historical sites.

The Rocky Mountains which is often called as the rocky mountain are a mountain range in the western North America. The Rocky Mountain stretches more than 4800 kilometers from the northern most British Columbia, Canada to the New Mexico in United States. The Mount Albert is the highest mountain of this range. Which 4401 meters above the sea level. The other mountain which is the Pikes Peak is also not far behind and is 4200 meter high.

I do feel that the rocky mountains have really lot to offer since rocky mountain are as old as the Florissant fossil bed which is not far behind this place. I must say that the Florissant fossil bed can be thought to be present in the rocky mountain range.

I would love to tell you about the Florissant fossil bed. Around 3.5 millions years ago there was a volcanic eruption in this region which was also called the Florissant valley. I must say that all the plant and insects which fell in the valley were completely covered for millions of years and hence changed into the fossils. I must say that they really turned into the fossils. However it was really amazing that for how long these fossils were kept intact. There were lots of researches being carried out on this and it was found that the fossils were safeguard due to the fact that the ach of the mountains was smoother than the talcum powder. This was really the fact which really saved the fossils for so long.

If you are at the fossil bed then you can have a clear picture of the Pikes Peak and the other mountains of the rocky mountain. I must say that you will definitely find this scenery to be more than something which you called beautiful. I really feel that Rocky Mountains are a treat. You can also have a look at the lakes found in the regions. They are really superb and outstanding and you can also add mind blowing to it.

You must also know that the rocky mountain is present in the two countries and that is Canada and the United States. The region of the Florissant bed that is the Colorado is also present in this range. Hence you can really expect some great scenery in these regions. For example you can take the moraine lake and the valley of ten peaks. These are something which you will definitely find to be really great. Same is the case with the Colorado region. I really feel that you will really love these scenes.

Since the Rocky Mountains are not far from the region where the Florissant valley used to flew, one can assume that the volcano which erupted millions of years ago was also the part of the rocky mountain.

The Colorado River is the main river in the south western United States and north western Mexico. The actual head quarters of the Colorado River are the rocky mountain national parks. The river flows through the Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico and so on. This river is really very long. The river is approximately 2330 km long, draining the part of the arid region on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains.

The Colorado River begins at an elevation of 9000 feet. Many other river flows in the Colorado River making it much broader and larger in volume and size. The river begins by flowing through Lake Granby along what is currently highway 40.

The Colorado was at first known as the red river as it was called by the Spanish. Originally the river looked Reddish brown from its natural flow through the deserts and mountain regions. But with the addition of the glen dam, the water comes from the bottom of the lake and appears of the blue green color.

I really feel that the Colorado River also good for river rafting. For example, you will definitely like to enjoy the elevation of the Colorado River. There are some regions where the river water flows at a great speed while going downward the elevation of the Colorado River. You can really use these regions for the river rafting.

I must say that river rafting is one of the very common and also popular sports in the US. I do feel that the river Colorado is also among the rivers which are really good for river rafting. However you can not really compare it with the great American river because you will definitely find the later one to be far better for river rafting.

However you must know that the Colorado River is really one of the most important rivers in the US. If you will clearly watch the Colorado River then you will definitely find that it brings the life along the deserts which it flows through it. I must really say that the Colorado River is one of the longest rivers you will find on the earth.

The other sports which can be really great to be playing in this region are the kayaking. Kayaking is a very popular sport and is quiet similar to the river rafting. I must really say that the kayaking requires still water where as the river rafting requires the fast moving water. I must really say that both types of water sports that is the river rafting and the kayaking can be played in the Colorado River. And I do feel if you are fan of such sports then I must say that you will definitely love the Colorado River.

The EI Paso Colorado is the second most populous counties among the 64 counties of the Colorado. The population of this county is about six hundred thousands. The seat of this county is at the Colorado Springs which is the second most populous cities of the Colorado states. The Colorado spring statistical area comprises of the EI Paso county and the teller county. Since its creation in the year 1871 this county has always voted for the Republican Party always in each and every presidential election.

In the July 1858 the gold was found in the South Platte River in the Arapahoe County which is situated in the Kansas territory. This discovery precipitated the Pikes Peak gold rush. Many residents from the mining region felt disconnected from the territorial governments of Kansas and the Nebraska, so they voted to form their own their own territory of the Jefferson on the 24th October 1859. The following month the territorial legislature of the Jefferson organized 12 counties from the new territory including the EI Paso County. This was the name from the Spanish language Ute Pass north of Pikes Peak. The Colorado city served as a county seat.

According to the United States census the EI Paso has 2130 square miles area under it.
You must know that the EI Paso County is governed by the board of county commissioners. Its current members are the Wayne Williams, Douglas Bruce, Sallie Clark, Dennis Hisey, and Jim Bensberg. However the Douglas Bruce is no more the county commissioners and has been replaced by Amy Lathen. The Colorado Springs is the most important city of this county.

There are many great parks in this region. But one that catches my eyes the most is the Florissant fossil bed. I do feel that if you ever get a chance to visit the EI Paso County then you should really drive you car into the teller county as well. Actually I am pointing towards the Florissant fossil bed which is really one of the most important place for the archeologists I the entire worlds. It is not far of from the Colorado Springs. You can easily drive to this place by your car. It will hardly take two hours to reach this national park. I do feel that you must have an idea about the history of this national park.

However there is another site which is really very famous as well and it is the Pikes Peak national park situated in the Colorado state. If you are interested in hiking then I do feel that you should really visit this place for at least once. This is really one of the areas that are the EI Paso which is the hot favorite for you either if you are a republican or if you want to enjoy your holidays.

Fossils are the preserved remains or the traces of the animals, animals and other organisms from the remote past. The totality of the fossils both discovered and not discovered and their placement in the fossiliferous (fossil containing) rock formations and the sedimentary layers are known as the fossil records. The study of the fossils record across the geological times how they were formed and to which period they belong and many other questions are put forward to be answered during the study of the fossils.

You must have seen many samples of the fossils in some museum or the other. However you will find the Florissant fossil bed to be one of the oldest fossils which you would have ever seen. I must say that this old fossil remain which is situated in the region near Florissant which is near to the Colorado springs is now a well known national park. It presents one of the oldest fossils remains which you would have ever seen. The people from all corners of the world do visit this place and I must say that they are really overjoyed by these remains.

You must have heard about the trace fossils, micro fossils and many other kinds of fossils but you will definitely find the fossils at the Florissant fossil bed to be among one of the oldest as far as the fossils are concerned. I once went to the fossil bed near Florissant. I was really very excited. When I saw the petrified red woods then my excitement really reached the peak. It was really very exciting to visit this place. Since then whenever I hear about the fossils, I have only one thing in my mind and that is this old Florissant fossil bed.

Whenever I talk to somebody about the fossils then my first words are about this great place which is now also a national park.

William Smith (1769-1839), an English canal engineer, found that rocks of diverse ages (based on the law of superposition) conserved different assemblages of fossils, and that these assemblages succeeded one another in a regular and determinable order. He also absorbed that the rocks from different ages could be correlated by the type of the fossils they contain. He called this phenomenon as faunal succession.

Smith, who preceded Charles Darwin, was unacquainted of biological evolution and did not know why faunal succession occurred. Biological evolution clearly explains in deep how the faunal succession occurs as the time passes by. Faunal succession was one of the most important evidence for Darwin to come up with his theory of the biological evolution.

I really feel that all the archeologists who are engaged in excavation work finding out different fossils and those who are trying to do research on these fossils are really doing a great job and we all should really appreciate it.
