Trip to Rocky Mountain National Park
The rocky mountain national park is situated in the north central region of the US state of the Colorado. It is rich with some great mountain view, a variety of wild life, as well as different kinds of forests. There are around five centers around the park. The park headquarters which is the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is one of the National Historic Landmark which was designed by the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin West.
The rocky mountain has around 300000 acres of land and is situated in the Colorado’s natural Front Range. The park is divided into two parts. The western part of the rocky mountain is drier and is famous for the glaciers as well as the cirques. Where as the eastern part is famous for the wet climate and is surrounded by some of the thickest forest found around the country.
The park has more than 60 highest peaks and some of them are even as high as 12000 feet which is just incredible. The winter season in this region is very deadly. Yes this place is quiet good for hiking but during the winter season you will definitely find it to be really dangerous. Hence if you are interested in hiking then you should visit the Rocky Mountains other than the winter season.
There are around 150 lakes and 359 miles of trails. People just love hiking in this region. I have been in this region for many times and I must tell you that I enjoyed a lot in this region. This is just not because I love hiking. I fact I love watching high peaks as well as the snowfall. And I get everything in this region. The lakes are just awesome and you will enjoy the canoeing as well as the kayaking in these lakes. There are some floating restaurants also in this region and I really feel that you will love eating some delicious foods in these parks.
Some of the glaciers which are found in these regions are Andrews Glacier, Tyndall Glacier, Sprague Glacier, Rowe Glacier, Mills Glacier, Taylor Glacier and Moomaw Glacier. These are some of the very popular glaciers around the world.
The month of July and August are the warmest of all. You will find the deep snow layer at the height greater than 9000 feet. Most of the trails are under snow in most parts of the year. However the area of danger and safe regions are marked well.
You will also find the rangers giving their valuable assistance at all the corners. You can hire one ranger for your safety and this is really a good habit.
